Summary

Teams are an essential element of an organization’s ability to achieve strategic, tactical and daily objectives.  Leading a system of teams has replaced the old-school management approach of leading a collection of individuals.  This one-day course will give participants the knowledge, skills and methods for bringing a group of people through the process of becoming a high-performing team that highly improves the chances of reaching the goals set for the team.

  • The characteristics of an effective teams based on the research on high-performing teams. 
  • Learn and apply the 5-stages of team development: Forming, Storming, Norming, Performing, Adjourning..
  • Roles & responsibilities of: Sponsor, leader, facilitator, coach, member, SMEs (subject matter experts).
  • Defining the core team, and the extended team.
  • Learn and practice various tools and methods used by teams, including:
    • Team charter
    • Brainstorming using mand-maps and affinity diagrams,
    • Running effective meetings
    • Stakeholder management & communication
    • Group dynamics 
    • Decision making tools
    • Managing conflict
    • Team reporting
    • Customization: Other team methods to fit your specific business needs
  • Solution development, verification and feasibility analysis (return on effort)
  • Solution implementation and verification of sustained improvement
